Some background info.

Monday starts the May Day holiday in China. I would expect all of the senior people at the funds we visited to be away for the week.

We are working with Marc (and Josh) regarding China and they are up to date with what we are doing on behalf of our clients there.

We have people on the ground through our relationship with the Thornton Group and Jonathan Li (you met Jim Bulger Chairman of the Thornton Group and Jonathan Li in your office a few months ago) who have great relationships with the funds we visited in China .

For now, only CIC has the ability to invest overseas. However, both the Social Security Fund and China Life expect to get approval in the fall. They want investments teed up prior to getting their approval so they are ready to make allocations “on day one”.

We spoke about all of our clients to the different groups, but Third Point is the fund CIC wants to move forward with first. I don’t know if it’s the strategy, performance, or you (or a combination of everything). I have requested more information.

I believe CIC is coming to the US sometime in May however I don’t know which group, the hedge fund group or private equity group. If appropriate, CIC will see you on that trip.

Would it make sense to set up conference calls or video conference calls with any of these peeps so that they can be introduced to us?
