Thanks, Hunter.  I understand the situation.  I want to be sure that you know that from the time you first mentioned the possibility of Ron weighing-in for me, I never expected that form of support to be time consuming for Ron.  I think that there is a real value to Ron having heard from you about me, if only because the subject of the District Court for DC may come up in conversation.  With some people who support me, my best hope is that they will simply say when asked, “I hear good things about John Mott” or something to that effect.  Slightly better would be to have a person put those thoughts in an e-mail or phone call – especially to someone influential.  Recently, I have been fortunate enough to have some people contact the Chief of Staff (or folks in his office) for me.  I know that there is no secret formula to getting the nod.  The good thing is that my name is at the White House and that I am being considered, but this also makes me want to play my cards right.  I appreciate your support on this and, again, I think that just mentioning me to Ron is helpful.

Thanks John. If I gain any useful info I will get back to you. Ron has not been very forthcoming- and for good reason- if he got involved it would be a full time job in and of itself. Regardless, I have made my feelings clear and if there is anything I learn I will pass it on. I feel bad that I have been of basically zero help to you on this- but ill keep my ear to the ground.

Things are definitely moving in the right direction.  Whether I am successful this year or later will depend somewhat in things outside of my control and, in part, on building additional support that will make it easier for the WH to say yes.  It is great to have your help on this.  I stand ready and interested in talking with Ron and anyone you suggest.
