Felicia-

Hope all is well.  I was just checking in to see if you had had a chance to review the material we sent on SmartSynch and 4Tell.

Let me know if you have questions or we can provide additional information.

Thanks,

Eric

Leslie,

I hope you’re doing well.   Sorry it has taken a little while for us to follow up but Hunter and I wanted to get back to you when we had some worthwhile things to pass on to you.  As Hunter and I discussed with you a few months back, we are working with a number of clean-tech companies that we feel could be an attractive fit for Walmart.  We wanted to briefly introduce two of them to you via email in hopes that you might ultimately be able to organize a meeting with your sustainability team to further discuss potential synergies. Let us know if you have any immediate questions.

SmartSynch (www.smartsynch.com): A Jackson, MS based Smart Grid technology and energy monitoring/management firm (corporate overview is attached). Their core business is the development of smart meters that utilize existing public wireless networks to communicate with utilities and internal facilities management teams. Have strong partnerships with a variety of corporations (Battelle, AT&T, etc) and are looking to standardize the smart grid space with the development of their patented Grid Router – a ‘communication hub’ that allows utilities to interact with any grid asset regardless of the type of network, technology or system it is using (www.Gridrouter.com).

4Tell (www.4tellsolutions.com): A Portland, ME company that utilizes technology-based sustainable performance governance solutions that enable organizations to make informed decisions about their asset environment. Their web-based product, the iPlan, is best understood via case studies which can be found at http://www.4tellsolutions.com/CaseStudyCorporate There are a number of potential synergies with Walmart from simple asset management (stores, shipping fleet, etc) to effectively tracking and managing Walmart’s Supplier Sustainability Program. Their client base includes the Royal Bank of Scotland, Glaxo Smith Kline, the State of Arizona, Washington, DC, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, etc.  Attached is a corporate overview for your reference.

Again, we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss either of these companies with you in more depth and ultimately would like to set up meetings between the appropriate Walmart representatives and leadership from both SmartSynch and 4Tell if you feel it would be worthwhile.

Thanks again for your help.

Best,

Eric
