Thanks...I really appreciate it. Howard's mommom passed away this morning at 5 am. She was 92. He was by her bedside last night and so got a chance to say goodbye. I know that he would love a call or text. I love you.

Brother,

This is an email from a friend of mine from high school. She just graduated from law school in NY and recently moved to DC. Do you know anyone that she can talk to? She is extremely smart and well rounded. She just wants to start networking in DC so that she can eventually find employment. Please let me know what you think.

Hey Ashley,

I wanted to touch base with you again now that I'm in DC -- officially!  I've been trying to meet with as many people as possible, just to get myself out there on the job search and to meet people who can tell me a little bit about what their own work is like.

Would you, your brother or your father be able to refer me to anyone from Delaware who is now working in DC in a legal or quasi-legal capacity, either on the Hill, at the Justice Department or a federal agency?  It doesn't matter if there's a job opening or not; I'm just looking to meet good people and get a better understanding of the DC legal community.

Hope you're doing amazing.  I think you were literally beaming the last time I saw you over the holidays...

Best,
Holly

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Ashley.  I really appreciate it.  I'm equally open to both non-attorney and attorney positions.  I hoping that even if I can't secure something permanent, I can do some kind of meaningful/interesting work to keep me busy in the meantime.

Happy Wednesday, and hope to be bumping into you again soon :)

Holly,

Good to hear from you! I don't know much about the DC job market but know that is pretty tough right now. My best friend just graduated from law school and is having a difficult time finding a job but I can reach out to my brother and see if he has any suggestions of where to look and who to talk to. He is away on vacation right now but I will touch base with him sometime in the next two weeks.

Warmly,

Ash

Ashley,

Hope your New Year is kicking off fabulously. Jenny recommended that I contact you because I've officially decided that it's now or never - I'm moving to DC at the start of March.  I've been reluctant about that whole thing because I love New York, but I'm dissatisfied with my job and my long distance relationship (I think I told you, my boyfriend is in DC).  I'm applying for attorney and law-related federal government jobs, but am generally just looking to get my hands dirty and get exposed to the DC job market!  If you can offer any advice or tips on networking, job openings or anything else, it'd be much appreciated.

Best to you and your family, and hope all is well!
