This is a space I know quite well; one of my friends is Chris Babel, the CEO of TRUSTe and formerly SVP at VeriSign. I would be interested in learning more and seeing if this opportunity has legs.
Can we set up an call with them?
Best,
John

Hunter,
I hope this email finds you well. I was speaking with Tim Egan and we both thought it was appropriate to reach back out to you regarding a new venture called tru.ly <http://tru.ly> . Just to fill you in on the WeGov front, the company has been moving ahead and generating revenue through its B2B hosting services, essentially hosting sites, bulk email, CRM and our advocacy tools, its a cash cow business and we are currently exploring the sale of the company, which includes the B2C platform, which you were pitched on some time ago.
I made the decision ten months ago with the support of our DC based verification partner to start tru.ly <http://tru.ly> . Tru.ly <http://Tru.ly> , which launched in February, provides individuals in over 130 countries a credential based on government issued data. Users can use this credential to prove their identity on a peer to peer basis, user to site or offline in the real world via biometric technology as well as QR and NFC. Short term we provide services such as e-commerce protection, age verification and social media verification. Long term, as we see credit cards go to the mobile device, tru.ly <http://tru.ly> is building the foundation for verified electronic identification. As you may know there has been alot of movement in this space from within the government, we are currently part of the conversation with the new NSTIC (National Security for Trusted Identity in Cyberspace) which is under DOC.
We have completed a seed round and we have now begun to raise our series A. As it turns out our data provider has hired an M/A firm to sell, we have made an offer to buy and are currently negotiating. This would give us a database of over 2 Billion, government issued records and a cash flow positive book of business. I would love to make sometime to catch up and tell you more about what we are doing. Attached, is a deck on tru.ly <http://tru.ly> , if interesting we can dive into the acquisition.
Best,
David
