Two Entrepreneurs Succeed With More Targeted Commercial Strategies - The Entrepreneurs’ Quadrant is populated by 4tell and eSight Energy — two firms that outshone many other suppliers that didn’t make the grade for inclusion in the Green Quadrant study. The characteristics of these two suppliers are:
Ø Success with customers with revenues below $1 billion. Since launching iPlan in 2008, 4tell has earned over 50 customers, 20+ of these garnered in the 12 months to November 2011. A handful of these have revenues above $1 billion.
Ø Functionality to meet essential customer requirements. 4tell supports various usage scenarios such as data collection and reporting while offering a price point that would suit budgets of the facilities director or energy director.
Ø Geographic market focus. Although both suppliers have offices in three countries or more, both customer lists are skewed to specific geographies. 4tell has offices in Canada, Norway, UK and the US. The majority are located in North America. Despite these geographic dependencies, 4tell has deployments that cover multiple geographies. 4tell’s largest deployment to date covers over 6,000+ sites across over 30+ countries.
Evaluated Firms: Selection Criteria - This report compares 15 energy management software suppliers. All software suppliers included in this study actively participated through interviews, product demonstrations and responses to a 115-point detailed questionnaire.
