Devon and Hunter - In addition to the PR firm, there are 2 other consultants I strongly believe Burisma should authorize us to engage for them. 1) The lobbyist I recommended to Vadim yesterday and which he responded that he would rather not. I would work hand in hand with the lobbyist but here is a quick version of why I think we need him, which I can explain more eloquently to Vadim in an email, if you're okay with me pushing back on Vadim on this: 1) this lobbyist is substantively right for us, including that he can help address the ban list that Nikolai is on (though I now think it's not the visa ban list, from what I've learned in the past 24 hours, though there is no way to be certain of that); 2) he is a registered lobbyist and I'm not, and we have to be registered to talk to the government about Burisma at any substantial level-I can be involved if David is there, but me going on my own means I'd have to register; and 3) it will definitely save Burisma money to get these other consultants on board (it sounds like a lot of money to Burisma but my rate is over $800/hour, and my colleagues are not cheap either, and having us do all this non-legal work is just not cost efficient). 2) In addition, all of us here at BSF strongly(!!!) believe we need Burisma to authorize hiring an investigative research firm right away. In order for us to get ahead of the press now and in the future, and in order for me/us to legitimately sell Burisma to the US Government, we need to know all the good, bad and the ugly about them so we can anticipate and prepare all angles of representing them.
