Dear Hunter

Thanks again for the introduction and referral regarding Mr. Popoviciu.

We had s good meeting (summarized below and copies to you as not a privileged conversation) here and will follow-up.

I will see my good friend, Ron Noble (former SecGen INTERPOL),  in NY on Thursday and most likely he knows this DNA chief prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kobesi, very well. Let me talk to him and see what the possibilities may be to meet with her and to initiate a dialogue which would remediate the situation. I want to make sure I can add some value to this equation before proceeding.

Thanks again and I'll keep you advised.

Best regards
Louie

Dear All

We met here in DC this morning with representatives (including BSF DC
partner Mike Gottlieb, attached cv) of Gabriele Popoviciu, a Romanian
businessman charged and currently on trial in Bucharest for corruption.

They are asking us to conduct a DD and then intervene with the special
Romanian anti-corruption prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi, who has
become a public 'celebrity' in Romania and Eastern Europe.

We received some documents today (others to come) which we will
review. They expect an adverse decision in
expected this Thursday in the ongoing trial, where the client faces a 19-yr sentence.

We advised that we would want to talk with Ron Noble and then decide
whether we can provide any effective assistance. They were talking
about us doing a report and then 'going to the WSJ.' I said this would
most likely just inflame the prosecutor and make things worse for the
client. We suggested doing a 'report' (perhaps being retained by a
business partner or investor (client owns a $.5B real estate
development in Bucharest), and then using that report to establish a
dialogue with the prosecutor-resulting in some possible deal or
remediated outcome.

I'll circle back with them Thursday.

Can we please do some research on this individual.

Thanks

Louie
