Dear Hunter, Eric and Jeff,Pease forgive me for not writing to you earlier, my DC schedule was a roller-coaster, and yesterday in NY wasn't that much better, with the closing event of my US-based campaign at the Harvard Club.My meeting with Colin did not last very long, but didn't go too bad, I think. What is suboptimal is that OVP seems to be outside the decision-making loop on the UNSG elections issue. Colin promised to get better informed on what's going on at the moment.In the meantime, I would very much appreciate any kind of feedback that you may get from him, with regard to our meeting or anything else. Do you think that would be possible?Come what may, this is the best channel to the vicinity of the top that I have hit so far. I must do my best to nurture the contact.My working meetings at the State (UN Director) and NSC (same) were genuinely polite and professional, but no new developments that I can report.July 21st is just around the corner. I hope we'll be able to make enough progress between now and then so that the US doesn't vote "discourage".
