Annie, great to see you yesterday. I appreciate your finding some time
to get away for a few minutes to see me--and look forward to doing so
again soon. I wanted to quickly get back to you with some basic
material on Harvard's basic benefits. While salary is always a
challenge for our sector, the benefits are really terrific. In
particular, the defined benefit retirement plan is something you should
take a look at and also the paid time off--which I promise I will be
sure to make sure you can actually take if you do work for me!--and
medical coverage.

While I hope to get to the point soon where you will talk directly with
some benefits folks, I wanted to get you this basic information quickly
for you to think about. I look forward to talking next week and am
having some conversations which should allow us to get more concrete
when we do talk. I hope all is well and I will look for the Vice
