President Donald Trump on Monday replaced acting Attorney General Sally Yates with Dana Boente.

Yates had instructed lawyers in the Justice Department not to defend legal objections to Trump's executive order on refugees and immigration. Yates was a holdover from the Obama administration.

Boente is the, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. She will hold the post until the confirmation of an attorney general, which is pending. Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions is the nominee.
