Monthly Newsletter from JVC Northwest with news, updates, resources, & job opportunities. Read more of Jeanne's reflection here as well as the first reflection from a current volunteer in our Voices from the Northwest series. JVC Northwest News Thanks for Spreading the Love Annual Valentine's Day Click Campaign Many former JVs and JV EnCorps members, current JVs, family, and friends came together to share their love during our annual Valentine’s Day Click Campaign. Thanks to their heartfelt support, we raised nearly $18,725! This campaign emphasizes giving in honor of loved ones, and in celebration of that love we sent custom valentines to all the honorees. Special thanks go to the Raymond Family Foundation for providing a $10,000 grant to match everyone’s donations. This year’s campaign featured stories of love that grew within the JVC Northwest community. From spouse brought together by their time in service, to children following in the footsteps of their FJV parents, to the forming of lifelong friendships, we are honored to be a part of such stories. Thank you all for showing your love in supporting JVC Northwest’s efforts to realize positive change throughout the Northwest! 60th Anniversary Event in Spokane, WA This Friday: Friday, February 24, 2017, 5 -8 pm Our Spokane celebration is this week and we hope to see you there! Former Volunteer Retreat Opportunities April 7-9, Puget Sound, Wash. and Chicago Area JVC Northwest, in partnership with Mission Year and Brethren Volunteer Service, is offering two retreats for former volunteers during the first weekend of April. The retreats will focus on "Discerning Vocation in Changin Times" and will feature themes of combating injustice, self-care, and community. Attendees can expect a relaxed environment among former volunteers who have engaged in a year or more of service and are looking for ways to continue living out and cultivating the values they hold most dear, both professionally, personally, and spiritually. The cost for this weekend retreat is only $35 thanks to the generous support of the Forum for Theological Exploration. More information and registration can be found here. For further information or questions email Outreach and Events Coordinator, Zach. 2017 Seattle Gathering and Fundraiser June 3, 2017, Seattle University, Seattle, Wash. The event includes a Mass, social hour, and evening program. This year's event will wrap up our 60th Anniversary celebrations by honoring all Jesuit Volunteers who served at Copper Valley School (CVS) in Alaska, where our history began. As we celebrate six decades of service we want to take the opportunity to recognize the earliest women and men who came to serve at (and in some cases build!) CVS. The entire JVC Northwest community is invited to attend, with a special invitation to those that served at CVS. If you are interested in helping with the event or offering suggestions on how to honor our earliest volunteers, please email Outreach Coordinator, Zach.
