Yes, good point. Below were my original thoughts on the NE consortium: 1) From an organizational/filing point of view I dont see any reason we couldnt just adopt the model used in CA. Makes the initial start up and filing process MUCH easier. 2) The outside woman they hired, Jo Linda Thompson, does purely legislative work. Clearly that wouldnt be our main role in the NE. We'd therefore have to work out a structure where we acted as the glue keeping together a multi-state legislative/PR process. Would we do administrative tasks as well? 3) Assuming all of the members paid the max membership fee (which more than likely ISNT the case), the Coalition had a budget of $280k last year. Not sure we could drive the type of program we would want on that budget. 4) Timing right? Want to ensure we have a strategy that follows a realistic timeline. 5) CAF / HNTB conflict. Ensure our position at the healm isnt seen as a conflict to other members. Bottom line is I think we could do a great job leading such a group, am just not sure it will make sense financially.
