Thank you, Martha, for sharing your experience as well as the uplifting article! I too have been feeling a heaviness around the direction of this administration and especially around the divisiveness among our citizens. I constantly have to check my reactivity, not pose opposites, remember that everyone is rational from their own perspective... and, yes, remember that all perspectives matter. It normally comes easily for me (a "9") to value all opinions. I get criticized sometimes for seeing the other side. But, geez, it's been tough lately to remember to value all perspectives!
I was heartened to be among the crowd in DC on Saturday. I'm a reluctant activist and didn't particularly want to march ("there will be a good turnout - my presence won't make a difference" "will the crowd be much more radical than I am?" etc etc). But honestly when I heard that Berlin, Paris, Athens, Copenhagen, London, Florence -- and so many other cities I've been fortunate enough to visit -- and countries I've yet to visit, like South Africa and Kenya! -- were all holding marches in solidarity, I realized I had to get off my couch, uber to the metro and go! How much easier could it be?!! So off we went, signs in tow!
I was also heartened tonight when I went to my local "Indivisible" meeting and found an overflow crowd of hundreds. People are engaged! I've been making phone calls to my elected officials. My challenge is to stay engaged, yes, and also to stay awake.
I am curious if any others of the DC Inspiration folks live in northern Virginia -- I am in Herndon.

Dear all - Last night, for those of you who weren't there, I shared about feeling depressed for the past few weeks, feeling relentlessly the heaviness of all that is going on, in spite of my knowing that All is Well and the Light of Love is meeting the darkness that is ready to be healed.
I had two great take-aways from last night:
first, to "listen with our breathing" .... to anyone I might call "other", to those who I essentially agree with, to my own internal dialogues ... we each have our own perspective on everything that is happening and each perspective matters. Everyone's.
second, for me, that we are deeply loved. Deeply deeply loved. All of us. Everyone.
Today, in the Washington Post Express paper that is distributed on Metro, I encountered the attached article...which fills me today with hope and joy...that such encounters are happening, that they are being noticed and lifted up, that All is Well even as we have so much work before us.
Thank you, Jessica, for making the trip down to support us here in DC on the path of staying awake. Thank you, Lauren, for hosting in your beautiful home. Thanks to all who came and breathed with me! Gratitude for each of you!!

Subject: DC Inspiration gathering - Wednesday night!

Dear Beloved Friends,
We are gathering this Wednesday night in Silver Spring to do practice together, and to share and support one another.Please let us know if you are planning to come.
Our meeting on Dec. 1st was profoundly moving for all who attended. Without exception each person described the practice period that we did as magical, transformative, and like a spiritual initiation. I myself was deeply impacted by what felt like special energy about being in DC in this critical time in our history. We held each of you in our awareness as we practiced and went through our evening.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 25th from 7-9pm. It will include practice, sharing, and a vegetarian potluck dinner. It will be held at the house of Lauren Cafritz. Her address is 6015 Walhonding Road, Bethesda, and her phone number is 301-221-8278.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I am very excited about meeting in DC with you on a regular basis, and building a powerful container for inner work and fellowship.
