By Theodoric Meyer | 07/08/2016 10:00 AM EDT With Elena Schneider, Kevin Robillard and Maggie Severns The following newsletter is an abridged version of Campaign Pro's Morning Score. For an earlier morning read on exponentially more races - and for a more comprehensive aggregation of the day's most important campaign news - sign up for Campaign Pro today. (http://www.politicopro.com/proinfo) TODAY ON CAMPAIGN PRO - "Indiana Republicans readying for possibility Pence will be Trump's VP pick," by Campaign Pro's Kevin Robillard: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d807923b19688fd583a45f8712492bb4c52daa830294ee4f09 FIRST IN SCORE - Rubio raises $2.1 million for Senate in nine days: GOP Sen. Marco Rubio kicked his fundraising into high gear after his last-minute decision to run for reelection, raising more than $2.1 million in the final nine days of the second quarter. The campaign had about that much in cash on hand June 30. Rubio's haul is nearly as much as the $2.4 million that Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy reported raising in the entire quarter. But Murphy still has a big cash advantage, with $7.2 million on hand. Neither Carlos Beruff, the multimillionaire developer who's challenging Rubio in the Republican primary, nor Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson, who's running against Murphy in the Democratic primary, have reported their second quarter numbers yet. The primary is Aug. 30. - Rubio will appear with Donald Trump today for the first time since dropping out of the presidential race, at a lunch the Trump campaign is holding in Miami, The Miami Herald reports. Gov. Rick Scott and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera will be there, too, along with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1bde2267e68742647344e4214579d21c0f2cd8e2b9fda7d6fd9662c73c0fb7a2 GAME OF CHAIRS - "Race to replace Reince Priebus begins," by POLITICO's Alex Isenstadt: The 2016 election hasn't yet entered the home stretch, but the race to become the GOP's next chairman is already underway. Later this month, as Republicans gather in Cleveland for their national convention, Robert Graham, who heads the Arizona Republican Party, will host what amounts to an informal kickoff for his likely bid for Republican National Committee chairman. On the docket: a concert featuring musician Kid Rock. According to numerous RNC officials, Graham has already begun the process of introducing himself to the 168 RNC members who will select the party's chairman after the November election." - "The event in Cleveland, several people familiar with its planning said, is designed to generate exposure for Graham as he maneuvers for the job. While the current GOP chairman, Reince Priebus, has not said what's next for him, most party insiders don't expect him to seek reelection. Priebus has held the post since 2011. ... Graham isn't the only one interested. Matt Pinnell, a former Oklahoma GOP chairman who is the RNC's national state party director, is also widely seen by Republican officials as a likely contender." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1bde2267e6874264c56d9c7de88f0b7eb8255a59979d17f1c9bc872c6f33c5cd Days until the 2016 election: 123. STRANGE BEDFELLOWS - Hewitt, Kennedy endorse Sanchez in California Senate race: Two very different political types endorsed Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez's bid for California's open Senate seat on Thursday: the prominent conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt and former Democratic Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island. Together, the endorsements were a snapshot of the coalition that Sanchez is trying to build in her race against fellow Democrat Kamala Harris, the state attorney general and a rising progressive star who took much more of the vote last month in California's "top two" primary. Sanchez is seen as more conservative than Harris. "This is a first ever in my 16 years of a nationally-syndicated radio show. I've never done this before. I have a Democrat whom I'm endorsing for office in a general election campaign," Hewitt said on his radio show Thursday morning. Kennedy, meanwhile, the son of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), called Sanchez a "tough" candidate who "has strong convictions and knows how to get things done," per a statement from the campaign. RUNNING UNDER A CLOUD - "Report: Corrine Brown facing federal indictment," by POLITICO Florida's Matt Dixon: "Florida Rep. Corrine Brown has been indicted and will appear in federal court in Jacksonville on Friday, according to First Coast News," a Jacksonville television station, which cited multiple sources. "It had been known publicly since March that Brown, a Democrat, was facing a Department of Justice Investigation related to 'fraudulent activities,' and whether or not she improperly solicited charitable donations and misused campaign funds. ... Despite the looming investigation, Brown is running for reelection to her 5th Congressional District seat. She is challenged in the primary by Tallahassee Democrat Al Lawson, who is a former state senator." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d8c0c821b7846f803ef39e715d67d866eb7fb94da9a0ca5f62 GROUND SUPPORT - League of Conservation Voters expands Nevada ground game: The League of Conservation Voters is expanding on-the-ground operations in Nevada, boosting Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto in her Senate race against GOP Rep. Joe Heck. The expansion "builds on the initial $260,000 independent expenditure campaign announced in April for an anticipated total of nearly $1.4 million through Election Day," per a statement from the group Thursday. The canvassing effort in Henderson, Las Vegas and the northern suburbs will "highlight the stark differences between Catherine Cortez Masto, who advocates for expanding renewable energy for Nevadans, and Rep. Joe Heck, whose record [is] of putting big polluters' interests first." PRESIDENTIAL SPEED READ - "Clinton unleashes Democratic dream team," by POLITICO's Gabriel Debenedetti in Scranton, Pa.: "Vice President Joe Biden plays the part of Rust Belt ambassador. Elizabeth Warren is the party unifier who speaks to swing state liberals. President Barack Obama stars as the motivator of the base, and contraster-in-chief. The Clinton camp has high expectations - and compartmentalized roles - for these high-wattage surrogates, who it began rolling out last week when Warren joined Hillary Clinton onstage for the first time at a Cincinnati rally." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d88ae1e67080f96cc7e05849b20fc531fc388fbe5daf1c3188 - "Trump's favorite general," by Bryan Bender and Shane Goldmacher: "As the military's top spy, Michael Flynn repeatedly butted heads with the Obama administration during a rocky tenure in which he was ultimately forced out. He then broke ranks with most national security leaders in Washington when he became one of the earliest backers of Donald Trump. Now Flynn, 57, who has both briefed Trump in person and penned memos for him, has emerged as more than a valued informal adviser - he's a potential running-mate." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d815679d51f70ca8f5fdb98485776450c2ff0015413ea4dd83 - "Clinton campaign seeks donations from Americans abroad with events in five cities," by The Washington Post's Tom Hamburger and Matea Gold: "Hillary Clinton's campaign held fundraising events in five foreign cities Thursday, offering U.S. lawyers living overseas the chance to have a "virtual policy conversation" with Sen. Timothy M. Kaine of Virginia, one of Clinton's potential running mates. Thursday's receptions - held simultaneously in Moscow, Paris, Rome, Warsaw and Zurich - served as the kickoff of a new Lawyers Abroad for Hillary program, part of an aggressive push by the putative Democratic presidential nominee to tap new constituencies for funds as she ramps up for the general election." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d887381cd7be19d591af3464236c2e652988340d3ce638a9ad CODA - QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I'm the other senator from Arizona - the one who didn't get captured - and I want to talk to you about statements like that." - Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), to Donald Trump. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d87c33ec54ed3390b1a9940db80e0f5f6f6ce6ab41da09aa09 To view online: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d8f37114196cefd5491efdd29a28b70f82e35b2f48bb059954 To change your alert settings, please go to http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=4351d3096f2089d801566c84dc00553c9b07596c0cb2854a140628cd88aa2357 or http://click.politicoemail.com/profile_center.aspx?qs=c1c81b2ef644fde1dd3c1f6178ef6a8ea3ee660992025bd4c6019e17d73bb38871e3ef194043fc28ef8ddeaa186ee0490cd8df2260d943fb This email was sent to Hbiden@rosemontseneca.com by: POLITICO, LLC 1000 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA, 22209, USA To unsubscribe,http://www.politico.com/_unsubscribe?e=00000155-cacf-d643-abff-cfcf065a0000&u=0000014e-f0fe-dd93-ad7f-f8fffbc40000&s=68808bf708e8295fa1b31db48e6b340b891ede313e4de08f3de1b7df95bc16dca4281372704a9c57ae604265f3af4c88110acf38974a16dd8768b0942109e748
