Dear Parents,I hope your summer is off to a great start! I am working to complete updates to both the 2016/17 Sidwell Friends Directory and to our Urgent Notification System. The Directory contains parent/student phone numbers and e-mail addresses while the Urgent Notification System informs the community about matters such as closings/delayed openings due to inclement weather. Please ensure that your contact information is up to date, as well as the information for any other people you want our urgent message system to notify.Directory: Please make sure that your household information (address, phone number, e-mail address) is correct, and update it if anything has changed. To do this, visit the Parent Portal and click on “Update Household Information.” Information for the print version of the student directory will be retrieved from our files on July 25, and after that date, no changes can be made to the printed directory. (The online parent and student directory, however, is updated daily.)Urgent Notifications: Please also be sure to review your emergency contact information, including any alternate contacts such as nannies, grandparents, or other caregivers who you would want notified in the event of an emergency. The School’s urgent notification policy can be found here. A test of the Urgent Notification System will occur on August 18 at 11:00 a.m., and the School will remind you before it occurs. For this test, phone calls will be made and e-mails will be sent to all parents and alternate contacts that the School has on file.
