I hope all is well, and you are enjoying the summer.

This email is important and, believe it or not, it is about something far more important than politics.

As you may know, my girlfriend Megan’s mother Debbie passed away from Cancer in 2008 at just 50 years old. Debbie fought a long battle and survived for 13 years, but in the end, she was unable to beat the odds. Megan was just 19 years old when she lost her mom, something that is personally very hard for me to comprehend.

When the American Cancer Society announced their inaugural Relay for Life event in DC, Megan immediately jumped at the opportunity and has been part of Event Leadership Team since January. I am standing by her side in this effort, which is why

We are raising this money to find a cure to this awful disease. It cuts nearly 600,000 lives short per year in the United States alone. We are fighting for more birthdays, so that no daughter, son, sister, brother, mom, dad, friend or neighbor ever has to lose someone they care deeply about again to this disease.

Now, I am asking for your help. I know in the heat of this political season you get asked for donations every single day, but this is more important than politics, this is about saving lives.
