We decided to live separately, on a trial basis, more than a year ago. This has been an extremely difficult year for me, and I believe for you as well. I do not think it is good for either of us, or for our daughters, to continue in the limbo of a quiet separation. I believe it is best for all of us that you and I move forward with definitively separating our lives and finances. It is my hope that we can do this in the most peaceful, kindest way possible for the sake of our children. I have consulted with an attorney, and propose that you do the same. Then, you and I should talk, or we should have our lawyers talk, and we should start moving forward.

I am sad and I'm exhausted. I thought we would be together our whole lives but I also cannot take it anymore. I can't live like this and it isn't good for our family.
