Hi Hunter. Sorry we missed one another. Hope you are well and that you are taking a little vacation. Michiana? Attached is the letter of invitation to the President to be honored by the USGLC at our December Tribute Dinner - the same one that we honored your dad a few years ago. Would you be willing to send it to Richetti and perhaps when we get closer and IF it's really viable, have the VP encourage the President to say yes? Here are the details: * USGLC - a broad based coalition of business, military and faith leaders - would like to honor the President for his unprecedented leadership on global development (invitation attached) at their annual Tribute Dinner. * The dinner draws a strong bipartisan audience of 1,000 businesses, NGO, faith-based and military leaders from around the country, as well as Members of Congress and Administration officials. Previous honorees have included Vice President Joseph Biden, Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright, Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, as well as Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and hosting President George W. Bush. * Ideally, the dinner would be held the week of December 5, but the dates are flexible, as long as we can find a venue. * The purpose is to not only honor the President, but to also shine a spotlight on his unparalleled record of achievement across the globe. * As the President nears the end of his eight years in office, the USGLC can think of no one more worthy of public recognition for what has been a transformational impact on global development in scale and impact. The breath of his achievements and that of the Administration are truly unprecedented in terms of lives saved and lifting people out of poverty throughout the developing world. * While Americans remember PEPFAR -- as they should, this is a less-told story that deserves to be recognized as part of the President's powerful legacy. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank Hunter. I am as always, very grateful.
