Enjoy the Metro Area's Premier Spring Racing Event! From Mt. Vernon to Old Town, the George Washington Parkway Classic is the Marquee Race of the Season. Soon enough, the cherry trees will again be in bloom, and Alexandria's Hometown Race will be back for its 34th year! Registration is open for the April 22, 2018, George Washington Parkway Classic — and we're not even going to pretend like we'd limit runners from signing up! This majestic course starts at the historic home of our nation's first president down the beautiful parkway named after him to classy and exciting Old Town Alexandria. Shorter distance, small children? No problem. There's a 5K and a Kids Dash too. You can also buy a race spot as a gift for your training partner (or have someone give it to you!)
