And no one stepped up to take them in. They ended up at a rural shelter where they were terrified. And they faced euthanasia since one (Piper) looks to have some bully breed in her and is 6 years old. The odds were stacked against her. The two are quite bonded and if Piper was euthanized it was clear that Molly would be lost. So thankfully, HT stepped up and got them outta there! They are now in a foster home TOGETHER and doing great. But they're still looking for that wonderful home to take them in together. What a great holiday it would be if that happened! Chip and His Weepy Eyes Chip spent the first several years of his life at the shelter, overlooked due to his weepy eyes. He would greet visitors with an eager head but all people would see was the eye stain. And they'd keep walking by looking for other kitties. Imagine living your life in a small cage never getting to stretch or know a belly rub. How does a kitty keep his spirits up? Homeward Trails heard this sad story and took him in. Our vets confirmed his "weepy eyes" were nothing to be worried about. He thrived in his foster home, so happy to be free and to live like a normal kitty. And his wonderful fosters couldn't imagine letting him go. So they adopted him. A donation today will help us continue to save the next Piper, Molly, and Chip.
