<br>Biographical Information
<br>
<br>Stuart Schaag serves as the Senior Commercial Officer to the Czech Republic. Mr. Schaag and his staff, part of the U.S. Commercial Service’s global network, are responsible for promoting U.S. exports and protecting U.S. business interests in one of Central Europe’s most dynamic economies. His prior assignments in the Commercial Service include Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Russia, as well as the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Chicago.

<br>Before joining the U.S. Commercial Service, Mr. Schaag served as the Department of Commerce’s Russia and Caucasus Desk Officer in Washington, D.C. Since joining the Department, he has spent over a decade living in or traveling extensively across much of the former Soviet Union in support of U.S. government trade programs and commercial and energy policies in the Caspian Basin and Sakhalin Shelf. Mr. Schaag started his public service career investigating anti-dumping cases as an analyst with the Import Administration. Previous employment includes a GE telecommunications start-up in Atlanta and working as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill.

<br>Originally from Jupiter, Florida, Mr. Schaag holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Marketing and Finance from the University of Miami (FL) and a Master of Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Arizona. He speaks Russian and Czech.
