SAVE THE DATE The Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) in partnership with the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce a multi-city tour with ten U.S. Ambassadors serving in the Middle East. The U.S. – Middle East Business & Export Promotion Tour will take place from October 18 to October 22, 2010, and will feature U.S. Ambassadors serving in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. This tour is undertaken as part of the National Export Initiative launched by President Obama to double U.S. exports and add 2 million jobs to the American economy. This program will showcase growth sectors in the region and provide unique opportunities for companies to develop strategies that increase U.S. exports and expand business in the Middle East. An inaugural conference and special Tribute Dinner will kick off the tour in New York on Monday, October 18. The tour will then take place from Tuesday, October 19 to Friday, October 22 and will feature two teams of Ambassadors that will embark on separate itineraries to the following cities: Milwaukee, Chicago and Houston; or Seattle and San Francisco. Identified sectors of focus include: • Biomedical, Healthcare, and Medical Devices • Oil & Gas, Renewable, Smart-Grid, and Energy Efficiency Technologies • Information and Communication Technology • Transportation Systems • Water Efficiency Technologies The participating Ambassadors are returning to the U.S. for the singular purpose of leading this tour and gaining intelligence that will inform the activities of the U.S. government in support of U.S. commercial interests in the region. ________________________________________ When New York Conference: October 18, 2010 Multi-City Tour: October 19 - October 22, 2010 *Registration will be available soon* Space is limited and RSVPs are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
