Congratulations on being selected as an honoree in Senator Kaufman's "Great Federal Employees" series. For more information on this program and our past honorees, please visit http://kaufman.senate.gov/great_feds/. Each week since May, 2009, the Senator has been speaking from the Senate floor to recognize the contribution of those working at a particular department or agency by highlighting the story of one of its outstanding employees. Senator Kaufman himself was a federal employee for thirty-five years before his appointment to fill the seat vacated by his predecessor, Vice President Joe Biden.
