Eric and I spoke with Peter Gertler and Todd Schultz from HNTB this morning. Key takeaways are below: I. Happy to meet / schedule a call with CAF i. HNTB in DC 10/12-13 ii. APTA Conference in San Antonio (10/2-5) - http://www.apta.com/mc/conferences/90days/2010annual/Pages/default.aspx II. CAF should talk to Prointec (Spanish firm HNTB has relationship with) i. Eduardo Romo – lead, project member with HNTB in FL and CA III. FL Outlook i. More or less 7 consortia forming ii. Financing critical given turnkey format iii. Schedule meeting for CAF with Adrian (HNTB FL lead) IV. CA Outlook i. CAF less behind than in FL as beginning stages will be mostly focused on engineering V. Rest of country a crap shoot for rolling stock (one off deals like in WI) VI. Potential teaming with Amtrak to operate HSR (as Amtrak will likely be looking for partners to make up for lack of expertise) Mike Muldoon Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC 1010 Wisconsin Ave., NW Suite 705 Washington, DC 20007 (202) 333-1880 mmuldoon@rosemontseneca.com <eschwerin@obblaw.com> *P** **Consider the environment before printing this email.**
