The committee on Tuesday launched a new Web site entitled, "Mike Castle's Washington House of Waffles," that blasts the establishment GOP Senate favorite for being "in the waffle business for years." The waffle house features such offerings as "the choice waffle," "the global warmed waffle," "the Wall Street waffle," and "the bringing home the bacon double waffle," among others. "He opened his first House of Waffles in Washington all the way back in 1993! Since then, he's been busy cooking up waffles," the site says. "Each one gets a full flip before landing on the plate." The site was launched one week before Delaware's Republican Senate primary, which Castle was widely favored to win overChristine O'Donnell until recently. But that was before Tea Party favorite Joe Miller upset incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska last month. Now, the tea party is hoping to knock off the moderate Castle in favor of O'Donnell. That leaves the Castle campaign facing intensified attacks from the right and left over the coming seven days. Castle's campaign had no immediate reaction to the new website, but the DSCC had plenty to say: "Longtime Republican Congressman Mike Castle has been in the Washington waffle business for years now," said DSCC National Press Secretary Deirdre Murphy. "Delaware voters are slowly realizing that the daily dose of hypocrisy, flip-flops, and changed positions served to them by politician Mike Castle represent everything wrong with Washington. One visit to Mike Castle's Washington House of Waffles will show a Beltway politician whose hypocrisy knows no limits." Eric D.
