Confusion seems to have taken over the Zeitgeist.

What now—*as Linda Hunt asked in The Year of Living Dangerously—*are we to
do?

Tonight’s Pisces Moon, moving subtly through your psyche, counsels
surrender . . . surrender to the mysterious current which is carrying you
through the chaos.

This moon is eclipsing the light of the Sun in some parts of the world. An
eclipse of the light source. This does *not* mean that light is being
extinguished. But it is a cosmic nudge toward Remembering that which our
minds cannot touch. This isn’t so much a mystical puzzle as a reminder of
The Most Essential Thing. We get so busy spinning around working on Who we
think we need to be that sometimes we forget What we are—we are Light
experiencing itself through form.

I’m not suggesting you book a one-way flight to Tibet and leave behind all
the Crazy for others to bear. Each of us has a part to play in bringing
peace and understanding more and more and more into play. But the job of
introducing more kindness into our days is sometimes an up-hill march if
our core is in turmoil. In order to draw from that deep well of inner
wisdom, you might consider carving out some quiet time each day to buffer
your your sometimes overly stimulated rationality and intellectual
brilliance. The sensation of merging with the stillness in Not Knowing can
feel remarkably good and true.

If you are someone for whom all this talk of meditative stillness seems to
generate more anxiety than it quells, please don’t despair. Our Pisces Moon
has many options up its sleeve. It is the high priestess of creative
expression. It doesn’t matter if you want to write an outrageous poem (to
anyone, even yourself), or bake a souffle from ingredients up-till-now
unheard of, or use flashlights to create a light dance on the back wall of
the barn, or orchestrate a symphony from spoons and bird calls . . . paint,
write, sew, cook, dance, draw, take a paring knife to an orange as if it
was a sacred Vedic orb and make it both elegant and fragrant . . . it
doesn’t matter how you let your creative sparks fly but, please, let them
fly. No censuring. Just imagine the freedom in playing with the limitless
possibilities of creative expression.

A Caution: Both the beauty and the shadow of Pisces is its boundarilessness
. . . so the same desire for transcendence that gave Gabriel Garcia Marquez
his genius with magic realism, Bach his elegant songs and Einstein his
capacity for creative science can backfire as the desire to transcend the
bumpy ride of life by drinking too much grape juice, smoking a little too
much herb, eating to soothe rather than to nourish, or by the deep dive
into any seriously addictive playground. The key to getting Pisces right is
to allow yourself to commune with the cosmic mysteries sober. It’s possible
that tonight’s eclipse will reveal clarity too long in the shadows if
someone is numbing their sadness or fear or anxiety with anything other
than the purity of Self, crutch-free. When you drop acid, you are sure to
find yourself in an altered state but the more honest and courageous way
into that starry night is through the rabbit hole of your soul, straight
on.

Here’s the thing: Our world seems pretty desperately jammed up with fear of
late. And you know—*I know you know*—that the only tool we have that can
dispense with the insanity of fear is Love. It’s that simple. The mind
wants it to be more complex, more deeply thought through. What if the
answer to all that scares the daylights out of us is an act so simple, and
so complete, as remembering that we carry the vibration of stars within us,
the vibration of light, the vibration of Big Love; we are made of more than
flesh and bone. Something mysterious and profound creates and inhabits
everything that is. Where you see humans acting out hideously, you see fear
incarnate. Could you send off an ethereal note loaded with compassion in
the direction of some of the darkest players on our communal stage?

What if what is being eclipsed is our soul memory of just how much
potential for compassion and kindness exists in our world?

When fear looms in your mind, please choose love.
