Grade 9 Parents,

The Parenting and Peer Group Committee warmly invites you to a parent peer
group meeting about the legal aspects of alcohol consumption for
minors on Tuesday,
March 8, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Robert L. Smith Meeting Room. Details
are below.

PARENTING AND PEER GROUP SPEAKER
*Judge Brian Kim,* a former Sidwell Friends parent, will speak on some of
the legal ramifications for parents and teens regarding alcohol
consumption. Come hear answers to questions such as: What if my child is at
a party where there is alcohol but they are not drinking? What if I host a
gathering of teenagers and alcohol is present, but I did not provide it and
did not know it was there? And much, much more. Here is your chance to hear
from a former sitting judge in Montgomery County about what you as a parent
need to know. After Judge Kim speaks, the group will split up by grade for
facilitated discussions. We look forward to seeing everyone! Light
refreshments will be served.
