Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is still pushing Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault in high school, to appear before the committee on Monday. Ford's attorneys told Grassley on Tuesday night that the FBI should conduct an investigation into Kavanaugh first, but Grassley suggested that Monday's scheduled hearing should proceed regardless.

"The invitation for Monday still stands. Dr. Ford's testimony would reflect her personal knowledge and memory of events. Nothing the FBI or any other investigator does would have any bearing on what Dr. Ford tells the committee, so there is no reason for any further delay," Grassley said.
