Dear NMNS Board,

I hope this finds all of you well and enjoying the summer.
The Network offices will be closed for the next two weeks as the team takes a well earned vacation. We did this last year and found that it worked well. Of course, if anything urgent arises I can be reached at the number below.

Here are some Network highlights in the lead up to the break:

* our work with The Whelan Group is in full swing. We expect their development/organizational audit report within a few weeks. A small group of Board and staff met last week to ensure that we are carefully syncing the staff driven strategic plan and TWG's work. We are on target to have the strategic plan and The Whelan Group report at our first Board meeting in October.

* Jane Genster graciously hosted a mini-collegiate prep academy at Georgetown University for NativityMiguel graduates/high school students from the DC/Baltimore area. David is very pleased with how it went and will provide a full report at our first board meeting. This is a Network program that is extremely beneficial to participants, very replicable and perfectly suited for our regional work plan.

* Planning has moved forward for our Annual School Leaders meeting and Regional Meetings scheduled for early fall. I've attached the teaser flyers for each. Unlike previous years, our meeting with school leaders will not coincide with our first board meeting, but I encourage you to think about joining our leaders in Chicago on Sept 15-16 if you are available.
* we moved our offices down the hall at WJA. Our new space includes many more windows and some additional square footage (thanks to our great landlord Bill Whitaker!)
While the summer months are traditionally slower fundraising-wise, all of us can be in the company of people who might be eager to hear of our good and important work. So let's keep at it wherever we are, in hope and confidence!
