Hunter, I know Randy talked with you briefly about my interest in the WFP position. Actually, it was Tom Vilsack who asked me to throw my hat in the ring several weeks ago; I just assumed that Josette would probably be reappointed because of the crisis in Africa and the desire for some continuity.. Nevertheless, it is pretty clear she will not be recommended. I am very interested, although I understand this is an uphill battle because there appears to be an "inside" candidate who I understand is personally close with key WH staff and the Obamas. Eartharin Cousin. In any event, this is a critical position, and a strong leader with stature in this position can be critical in maintaining worldwide funding and attention to the issues.
