Dear Members of the Truman Center and Truman Project Boards of Directors, It has been a very busy summer, and we are on pace to have a productive fall and winter! I wanted to give you some situational awareness on an event taking place tomorrow on the Hill. As a result of the Diversity in National Security and Foreign Policy reception that took place during the Congressional Black Caucus’ Annual Legislative Conference week, we have forged some important relationships that are already yielding positive outcomes. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 10 October, 2018, Truman Center for National Policy and Truman National Security Project, along with the House Homeland Security Committee, will present a bipartisan panel on the importance of diversifying the national security and intelligence workforce with security clearance holders and policy experts in the House of Representatives. The panel discussion will dispel myths and explore the facts behind obtaining a security clearance as a House employee, why it is important to hold a security clearance, and the importance of diverse backgrounds in national security policy conversations. The discussion will be moderated by Truman’s Interim Executive Director, Bishop Garrison. The event will take place in Room 2060 in the Rayburn House Building starting at 12:00 PM and ending at 1:30 PM. You can send an email to *CHS.RSVP@mail.house.gov <CHS.RSVP@mail.house.gov> *in order to RSPV. Please let me know if you know of individuals who should be invited, or if you would like to speak in more detail about this event. If you have questions I encourage you to reach out to me at *arobinson@trumanproject.org <arobinson@trumanproject.org>*. Sincerely, Anthony -- *Anthony Robinson* Director of Training and Public Engagement Truman Center for National Policy | Truman National Security Project Cell: *202.486.1528 * Office: *202.216.9723* Ext. *2344* www.trumanproject.org | www.trumancenter.org --
