EXCLUSIVE ... News Corp. has expanded Glover Park Group's lobbying engagement in the wake of the company's hacking scandal, adding hired guns on the lobbying and public affairs front to help the company navigate the informal congressional requests it has already received and prepare for more, according to a PI tipster. Sources familiar with the scope of the engagement said that Susan Brophy, Joel Johnson and Gregg Rothschild will be taking the lead on the lobbying front while Mike Feldman will be among the principals heading up the firm's public affairs contingent. "There's a lot of playing catch up at the moment, but ultimately they are going to cooperate with whatever inquiries are under way," a source familiar with the firm's role said. This isn't the first time GPG has been called to help when News Corp. has been under durress. GPG registered (http://bit.ly/6GvZ54) to represent the news conglomerate last January when it was in a dispute with Time Warner Cable. GPG reported billing News Corp. $100,000 for lobbying during the first six months of 2011. While News Corp. has decided who will lead up its inside the Beltway efforts, it appears the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is still undecided about what it will do with a $15,000 campaign contribution it received last month from the company's political action committee. PI's repeated attempts to find out continue to go unanswered. Eric D.
