Pulitzer Prize winner Ron Chernow ’70, author of the book that inspired the hit Broadway musical, Hamilton, will speak on another iconic American figure - Ulysses S. Grant. In his biography, Mr. Chernow provides an analysis of the General and President whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency. Mr. Chernow explains how this simple Midwesterner could at once be so ordinary and so extraordinary.

Each member will be limited to a maximum of four seats for the lecture. Please note that while there is no charge to attend this event, there will be a $10 no-show fee charged to any who register but do not attend. This fee is to ensure that all member who want to attend are able to. To avoid the no-show fee, all changes and cancellations must be made by Tuesday, October 30.

Registration for dinner will also open at 10:00 am tomorrow, and registration for the dinner does not guarantee a reservation for the lecture. The dinner is $50 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuities. All reservations for the dinner are final sale by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 25.


** On Thursday, November 1, seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The Main Lounge will open for seating at 7:45 pm, with the lecture beginning at 8:00 pm. Copies of Grant will be available for purchase and signing.
