I have abandoned my grandmother's old cupcake recipes. (Sorry, Nana!) Now, I skip
the baking and simply swing by Buzz Bakery for their perfect confections.

I know, I know. It seems like cupcakes boutiques are sprouting up all over town,
but this one is really special. Their cupcakes are moist and airy and the icing
is sweet, but not too sugary. The colorful decor makes me feel like a kid again,
but their aromatic coffee brings me back down to earth.

With fun, original flavors, this is definitely my new go-to cupcake place!

Ballston Ponds Received Makeover

Meeting Monday, June 13th @ the NRECA Building

Work has recently begun to create a new design for the Ballston Pond. It is anticipated
that the restoration will create better access to the pond, greater plant diversity
and a more sinuous flow path that will improve water quality by increasing the nutrient
uptake by the plants.

Currently, the County is gathering data on existing conditions such as topography,
existing plants, current flow dynamics and community needs.

An initial public meeting was held in February, 2011 to gather public input on how
to improve the pond. Conceptual designs will be presented at a meeting on Monday,
June 13th at the NRECA building located at 4301 Wilson Blvd. Come to view the designs
and give your feedback.

The final designs will be completed early in 2012, followed by construction. More
