Beach Protection Ordinance in Jeopardy! Send an Email Supporting a Strong Ordinance to the Town Advisory Plan Commission Today!

The lakefront owners are trying to shutdown the long-awaited Town Beach Protection Ordinance. If you support strong beach protections, we urge you to write a quick note to the Town Advisory Plan Commission right now! You can email Advisory Plan Chairman Bob Lemay at lbplemay@gmail.com and make the following points or just use this as a template:

I support the adoption of a Beach Protection Overlay District Ordinance which does the following:

Prohibits any more vertical sea walls that erode neighboring public and private beach Favors natural shore protection and setbacks Prohibits future septic systems on the beach side of Lake Shore Drive homes Ensures against destruction of the dune vegetation and topography Prohibits future construction within a 20 ft setback from the Natural Ordinary High Water Mark (vegetation line)
