I am writing to share with you the launch of my new business - SwitchToClean. http://www.switchtoclean.com/ SwitchToClean will help Americans become part of the climate change solution by switching their home or business electricity service from "brown" to "clean" energy.

We created SwitchToClean because the transition to clean energy has been far too slow to meet the urgency of the climate crisis. With millions of environmental and progressive activists in the United State, we don’t have to wait for the solutions to come from energy companies, Wall Street or politicians in Washington DC - we can simply show them how to SwitchToClean. Working with a supplier of clean energy, we'll use the best practices from politics, issue advocacy and social marketing to convince thousands of people to switch their homes from dirty power to 100% clean electricity - and in so doing, increase the generation of clean energy. More demand = more supply.

The switching process is done 100% online, there is no service interruption and no one needs to visit the home. Power will continue to be delivered by the local utility, and the service will remain the same. What will change, is that the consumer will now be purchasing clean energy. In most cases, clean energy is priced similar to, or sometimes less, than what the consumer currently pays for brown energy from their incumbent supplier.

Initially, we will offer renewable electricity residential and commercial service only in Pennsylvania, with Illinois to follow shortly. Only residential service can be signed up for on-line. More states will be added.
