Dear Members of the Board, I would like to echo Mike’s heartfelt appreciation for your ongoing leadership and support. Now that we have received clarity surrounding the Freidenrich Estate’s final contribution to Truman, we are continuing our concerted efforts to deepen existing and forge new funding relationships. I would like to share with you some of our top tier prospects and welcome any and all help as we continue to pursue their support: *Foundations:* *Ford Foundation* – Ford is one of the largest providers of general operating support to non-profits in the country. We feel they are a great fit, but seek an entry at the foundation at the appropriate level, ideally the executive office or a program director. *Rockefeller Foundation* – We are seeking validation with Raj Shah, Rockefeller’s president, as there could be a natural fit regarding Truman’s commitment to a post war system of institutions and alliances based on shared values. *Rockefeller Brothers Fund *– We are confident there is a good fit at RBF. We would welcome an introduction to Stephen Heintz, President so we can explore exactly where he sees Truman fit within their portfolio. *Skoll Foundation* – We have long identified Skoll as a natural fit within the Peace, Security and Human Rights community. We would welcome help in putting Truman on their radar screen. *Omidyar Network/Democracy Fund* – The two areas that we find of most interest is their recent investment in the Immigration/Family Separation space as well as their historic commitment to Democracy and Human Rights. They would be a natural partner of ours and we are working to highlight our interest to a Truman member who is on their staff. However, we are seeking a higher level entry point in order to move to ball forward. *Wallace Global Fund* – We continue to seek an introduction to Ellen Dorsey, President, Wallace Global Fund as there is a natural fit between their interest in immigration, climate change and general awareness raising surrounding democratic backsliding. *Corporations:* We have had great conversations with the following corporations about support for Truman. They have all been positive and in fact all have expressed a deep interest. We could use additional validation to the right individuals in order to advance the relationship to the next stage: Palantir - Victoria Virasingh, Public-Private Partnerships; Mehdi Alhassani, Operations Airbnb - Elizabeth Jarvis-Shean, Head of Global Public Affairs; Nick Shapiro, Global Head of Trust & Risk Management Chobani - Jason Rahlan, Director of Communications; Nishant Roy, Chief of Staff to the CEO Franklin Templeton - James Cross, Vice President, Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager; Chris O’Donnell, Partner Tesla - Kristen Kavanaugh, Leadership Development Manager; Rohan Patel, Director, Policy and Business Development For the following three corporations, we have begun to engage with their corporate social responsibility teams, but have not proceeded past the exploratory phase. High-level validation would be of great benefit at this stage: General Dynamics, General Atomics, Northrop Grumman *Individuals:* We are more than eager to forge new relationships with individuals who are in alignment with Truman’s mission. As Mike noted, we are exploring ways in which we can make inroads with the more politically oriented donors. We will continue to host fundraising dinner discussions and relaunch Truman-style town hall national security meetings to engage with interested parties. In fact, we are planning to host fundraising salons in New York, California and Chicago later this year. Greg Craig has agreed to join Mike in the Bay area the first week of September for key donor meetings and events. I will continue to coordinate with each of you individually as we nail down the details, but would welcome the opportunity to discuss any and all of this in greater detail. We are happy to share a more extensive prospect list for any and all of these categories of you would like to know more. I would be happy to schedule time to speak with you individually about our strategies, any ideas you have, and where you might be able to help. I can always be reached at mcunningham@trumancnp.org or 202-440-1637. I look forward to working with each of you in the coming weeks and months. Thank you all so much for your continued help and support. Respectfully, Mark Mark Cunningham Development Director Truman Center for National Policy/Truman National Security Project 202-440-1637 -- *Save the Date:* TruCon 2018 will be June 1-3 in Washington, DC
