Dear SFS 2019 Senior Class parents/guardians, Welcome to a busy and exciting year! We look forward to sharing this special time with you all. We would like to thank last year’s grade reps - Lisa Horowitz, Mary Kostel, Kimberly Stephens and Barbara Swoboda – for their hard work. We will do our best to follow in their footsteps. As grade reps we will be sending out information and organizing get-togethers throughout the year, including the distant-seeming end-of-high-school events of next May and June. This is not a one-way relationship and we hope you will reach to us with your questions, concerns and suggestions. At present our most pressing business is to find volunteers – both foot soldiers and captains –for the Senior Celebration and Senior Prom. These two events are parent-powered and we need to find volunteers in fall to get this going. The Senior Celebration - an evening of fine food and entertainment - is one of the highlights of senior year. In the past, it has included everything from silly skits to slide shows. Traditionally, at some point, ALL THE PARENTS TAKE THE STAGE! It’s hosted by the school, organized by the parents of the graduating class, and takes place Sunday June 2nd. The Prom will be held this year on Friday May 24th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown. In addition to helping out with the prom, parents organize an after-party designed to keep the students together under adult supervision in the early hours of the morning. Please let us know if you would like to help out with these events and if you are interested in a leadership position. If you take on a leadership position we will make sure you will not be alone at the top. Finally, Register now<https://www.sidwell.edu/papicnic> to join us on Friday, September 7 at our All-School Welcome Back Family Picnic on the Wisconsin Avenue campus from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy a picnic supper (fajitas, salads, and popsicles),watch girls' soccer and volleyball, jump on a moon bounce, lend your hands to a community art project, do a scavenger hunt, play games, help prepare for the Next-to-New Sale, and much more. In addition, here are some key dates for senior parents for the start of the year: Thu Sep 6 - 12th Gr Parent Night w/ College Counseling 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Robert L.
