Hello!

I hope you will considering supporting me this year with a donation to
Suburban Hospital’s breast cancer patient navigator program, at
http://donate.suburbanhospital.org/victoria in conjunction with my 40 mile
walk, "Pinky's Solo Walk", which I am doing May 4-5.

Here’s why:

Thirteen years ago I needed a way to keep stress from slowing me down and
be active so I began walking long-distances. After I started, I saw an ad
about a two-day walk that benefited a national breast cancer organization.
I decided to participate as a way of continuing my walking but also give
back and make a difference for those affected with breast cancer. My first
walk was in 2006 and I have been doing them annually. Last year, I started
my first solo walk for Suburban Hospital’s breast cancer patient navigator
program because ironically, in 2010, I became a patient at Suburban. After
a routine mammogram, I found out I needed surgery before the cells
developed into breast cancer and I began seven weeks of radiation
treatments. I am extremely grateful to the Suburban doctors, nurses and
staff who treated me.

With your contribution, collectively, we can help more than 300 patients
annually who come to Suburban for their breast cancer treatments. Funds
raised will help support our two oncology nurse navigators and provide:

Post-mastectomy bra kits

Cancer care education binders

Health promotion materials
