The Boston GlobeCommentary February 3, 2016 Fariborz S. Fatemi Stephen Kinzer is right Saudi Arabia has turned into a paranoid adventurist regime. The question must be asked is it the manufactured fear of Iran or is it more precise to say the it is the Saudi hand that is tearing the region apart. For example,at one point the Treasury of the United States declared Saudi Arabia as the epicenter of terrorism funding in the Middle East and beyond. And, what about the bastardized, virulent form of Islam, Wahhabism, coming out of Saudi Arabia that fuels and drives the sectarian divide in the region, threatening the very fabric and stability of the Middle East. Further, what about the terrorist groups, to name a few, ( Al-Nusrah, Al- Queda, Daesh(Isil), Salafists) and their ideology that the Saudi regime and its allies in the Gulf have bankrolled for decades. These are the real threats not Iran. The Irony is, It is these terrorists groups that are also a threat to the very existence of the Saudi regime and its allies. They created these monsters and now the monsters are knocking on their door. No wonder they are paranoid.
