This is serious, R.Hunter. We need smart, committed leaders in the Senate who get in their guts why we are fighting for American values.

We are living in one of the most challenging periods of modern American history. Each day we see new reports of attempts to hack our election systems and drive Americans apart through social media, efforts to cut short the special counsel investigation in spite of convictions and guilty pleas and declarations of "fake news."

That's why we need people like Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri.

But The Washington Post is calling my friend Claire one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the country, and a new poll has her tied with her GOP extremist opponent.

We can't let this one slip away. Missouri is a must-win if Democrats want to take back the Senate, and the GOP knows it. That's why Trump has already gone to Missouri four times and why Mitch McConnell-linked groups are spending millions to unseat Claire and protect the GOP Senate majority.

That is the competition we're up against. Make no mistake, we need Claire in Congress if we're going to keep fighting the Trump-GOP agenda - but right now her fundraising is falling short, and she can't win without our help.
