But we can't listen to any of that. This race isn't going to come down to what Nate Silver or Charlie Cook predicted our chances were going to be. It's going to come down to every state and every campaign that is putting up a tough fight.

Democrats are still running strong campaigns for governor's mansions around the country and the path Republicans need to take to win the Senate is a tough one -- really tough. They have to pull out more than a couple wins in very tight races.

And that means they'll need to run a strong ground campaign, something they've been terrible at in recent years. And it's where Democrats can beat them, state by state and race by race.

But it'll take a groundswell of grassroots support to pull off the kind of get-out-the-vote effort Democrats need, and we need your help to make it happen.
