He is very interested in participating. Would you have some more information about the logistics and timing. Would you please send a brief email response to me indicating whether or not you have considered the invitation and whether you will be declining? We need to move forward with the planning, but of course cannot do so until we have a response from you one way or another. I greatly appreciate you taking the few moments to follow up. Learning the lesson from last summer, I wanted to put this request to you early, and again raise the possibility of inviting Senator Biden to be our Guest of Honor at an United States Marine Corps sunset parade in 2018. We currently have a parade scheduled on the early evening of Tuesday, July 10th, at which we would like to honor him. If that doesn't work, I can try to get another date, but would need to lock it in soonest. (I don't mean to be pushy, but the dates typically go quickly.) I will, of course, send an official letter of invitation if you think there's a chance of acceptance. I will also provide any background information that would be helpful. Guests of Honor are often Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Congress, Governors, and other public servants who have made a lasting impact on the Marine Corps and the broader community --in his case, the United States. It would be a privilege for us to have a chance to honor Senator Biden at this long-standing traditional venue. And as a fellow Blue Hen, I'd be particularly happy to serve as his host. I'd appreciate you getting this request to him for consideration, and letting me know soonest. Hope we can make the scheduling work. Thanks. John Ewers John Ewers Major General, U. S.
