So, I am about to talk to John, but here's my calculations on what I think should be our absolute bottom line. 1) Give Jay and anyone he thinks he needs to pay in Colombia no more than 20% of the success fee. 2) Split 70/30 retainer and success fee with John. What that would work out to on a $25K retainer with a 1% success fee on a billion dollar project is: RSP - $17,500/mo plus a $5.6m success fee John, et. al - $7,500/mo plus a $2.4m success fee Jay, et. al. - $2.0m success fee That would still be a lot of money to us and it gets us to more than 50% of the total. The only thing we need to negotiate with Jay is re: Rent. I think he thinks that factors into this somehow. Is my 20% for Jay too high? Eric D.
