Sure, I’d be delighted to meet Rick in person (we talked together many years ago when I was working in the WFP SF unit in Rome). My name is Katherine Frank and I work with World Food Program USA<https://wfpusa.org/> (WFP USA). We are a fundraising and advocacy organization that supports the work of the United Nations World Food Programme. I would like to invite you for a meeting with WFP USA’s CEO, Rick Leach, to discuss your work on home-grown school feeding and the link between agriculture and nutrition. To give you some further background: Over the past few months we have been on the lookout for some good data that supports the link between sustainable school feeding programs and local and regional procurement/home-grown food. This information could help bolster our Congressional advocacy efforts as well as our fundraising goals as we aim to provide all of our supporters (on the Hill and around the country) with up-to-date, nuanced materials that show the impact of WFP and safety net initiatives like school feeding programs. A few weeks ago Mr. Leach spoke with Arlene Mitchell from the Global Child Nutrition Foundation who suggested that we reach out to you based on your experience at IFPRI. Would you have time to meet with Mr. Leach and a few other WFP USA staff members toward the end of this month? Please let me know what would be convenient for you. We are happy to work around your schedule. Hope to hear from you soon.
