Dear Hunter,

Today we remember not only our fallen angels who gave their lives for our country, but also the family members who suffered the loss. It's the spouses, parents, siblings, and children who bear the weight of a loved one being overseas. And it is those same loved ones who endure the grief when a servicemember makes the ultimate sacrifice.

In the past, Hallie and I have asked you to donate to the USO. Today, however, we'd like to make a different request. If you know a servicemember or veteran, thank them. If you're at a barbecue today with a husband, wife, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, or friend of a veteran, thank them. It may seem insignificant, but a simple "thank you" means so much to servicemembers and our families.
