Mike, I'll buzz you tomorrow. Kevin Sent from my iPhone On May 19, 2011, at 7:45 PM, Jonathan Schwartz <jschwartz@bellsouth.net> wrote: I like all the ideas below. In addition, I agree with your assessment on the need for a Republican speaker. I think it would be valuable to have a Member of Congress or staff member who has championed our program in the past present to us their view of how difficult the current environment is and issue to the board a call to action, identifying the types of support they will require to continue to successfully champion our cause. Absent that, I believe a Republican Appropriations lobbyist could paint a valuable picture. I welcome others’ thoughts. While Kevin will do an excellent job with his presentation and will have lots of good information, I believe we need you, as Board members to inspire and motivate your colleagues to provide us with the support we need to ensure the continuation of the program. Also, I was wondering whether you or Hunter would have a suggestion/opinion about whether we should have an "R" make a presentation at the Board meeting. I was thinking along the lines of a Member or possibly a lobbyist. I feel that we are still re-establishing our political bona fides and the group would benefit from the additional education. Any suggestions you would have would be most appreciated. --Skip -- Skip Lockwood President and CEO ZERO -- The Project to End Prostate Cancer 10 G St., NE Suite 601 Washington, DC 20002 202-463-9455 (main) 202-463-9456 (fax) Virginia Office: 515 King St. Suite 420 Alexandria, VA 22304 www.zerocancer.org Twitter: www.twitter.com/digitalskip Facebook: ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer Combined Federal Campaign #12161 ______________________________________
