See Smitty reference (although not under 40) PI's 40 UNDER 40: As expected, PI got crushed with suggestions for deserving folks left off Washingtonian's 40 under 40 list. (And judging from PI's analytics, almost every single one of you read that article.) But before we get to PI's picks, let's review the much more fun category of what not to do. Don't have your PR person nominate your organization's lobbying team. Not a winning strategy. Good try, though. Also, don't just send a name. I know you're all very busy, but nominating someone without any context is just, well, poor lobbying and doesn't really make your case. And no there will be no 40 over 40 lists on the horizon for the more "seasoned" among you. Sorry, Emling. OK, now on to the list. Walgreens's Ed Kaleta NYSE Euronext's Reagan Anderson Podesta Group's Izzy Klein Unum's Marty McGuinness Quinn Gillespie's Drew Cole Cornerstone Government Affairs's Mike Smith And our favorite nomination was for John Scofield of Shockey Scofield Solutions. Aside from listing the qualities that make him deserving, his nomination read, "He might not be pretty, but he is a stud." PI definitely agrees with that first part. Eric D.
