Reception Description

The reception will follow a U.S. Government-only conference sponsored by the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (S/SRAP) and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which brings together U.S. Government leaders from across the inter-agency to review and prioritize infrastructure projects for Afghanistan's future economic development and regional integration. A senior leader session will close the conference on June 8. Following the conference, senior leaders from State, Defense, USAID, and other agencies will join private sector participants at 5:30 p.m. to encourage private sector investment in Afghanistan. Deputy Secretary Thomas Nides will give opening remarks at the reception.
